I hold a post graduate diploma in Child and Adolescent Counselling and a degree in Early Years , providing me with extensive knowledge of child development and neuroscience in the field of Early Years.
I am a member with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their code of ethics.
I have been a school-based counsellor and have worked therapeutically with young people in nurseries , primary and secondary both state & independent schools for over 20 years. I have my own private practice and I provide a support service to schools, parents, young adults and children to assist with their emotional wellbeing. I support children with one-to-one or small group sessions to build self-esteem and confidence. My therapeutic approach uses play and creative arts that supports children and young people to explore their thoughts and feelings, express themselves, and make sense of the world around them.
Counselling is a creative opportunity for personal growth. As children and adolescents grow, they are constantly in the process of developing the social skills and emotional intelligence necessary to lead healthy, happy lives. When children experience emotions or engage in behaviours that interfere with their happiness and ability to thrive, they may benefit from counselling.
I have managed Sure Start Children's Centres and started my career as an Early years Educator in independent schools across Europe. I have also worked alongside Health visitors, Midwifes, Speech & Language therapists, and many other services in providing my child development expertise in supporting children and their families. As a child development expert with qualifications in Early Years , special educational needs, parent coaching and psychology. I can also help families in their home with routines for children by giving strategies and support.
